Director, BenefitWallet (Vendor Management)

The Director role will report into BenefitWallet HSA and Consumer Accounts. BenefitWallet, long a leader in Health Savings Accounts administration, also provides a variety of consumer-based tax favored accounts which help employees and employers control healthcare spending.

Responsible for the initiation, leadership and management, evaluation, integration and negotiation of critical vendor / partner relationships for BenefitWallet with minimal direction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the most significant partner / vendor relationships including; contract management, financial and quantitative analysis, relationship management, strategic planning and development, team leadership and domain expertise.

  • Implementation of vendor governance programs

  • Conduct vendor reviews and risk assessments

  • Conduct administration and operational process improvement assessments

  • Implement and manage vendor performance metrics / Service Level Agreements

  • Participate in proposal drafting and new business presentations

  • Develop professional and personal relationships with vendor / partner leadership

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the market and competitors, and what sets BenefitWallet apart

  • Mentor and train staff, continually focusing on developmental opportunities

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of types of benefits products available in the marketplace, as well as vendor offerings

  • Identify new approaches for delivery of services to support organizational efforts toward developing innovative solutions for clients

  • Interact regularly with vendors to gain knowledge of product offering and on behalf of clients to ensure that services and products are provided to match client expectations

  • Identify and participate in relevant training and development opportunities

  • Participate in internal initiatives (e.g., innovation, work process improvement)

  • Seek out opportunities to build internal relationships with people in other Buck practices and in Xerox to expand BenefitWallet’s internal network

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years of total related experience

  • Desired but not mandatory: MBA, CEBS, CPA, Certification in Project Management, Six Sigma, Lean

  • Participation in professional organization(s) specific to business

  • In-depth knowledge of account-based benefit plan administration practices, processes and controls and industry service providers

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize heavy workloads

  • Knowledge of contractual arrangements for high deductible benefit plans

  • Experience with an account-based plan industry service provider

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Project management skills and experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills

  • Ability to manage remote project teams and use online collaboration tools (e.g., WebEx, video chat, messenger software, etc.)

  • Ability to interact effectively with people, both internally and externally

  • Demonstrated management and/or supervisory skills

  • Strong computer skills

  • Self-starter and good problem solver

  • Strong critical thinking, listening and reasoning skills

  • Demonstrates proven ability to perform assigned duties of job

  • Working knowledge of HR operations (processes and technology), HR programs

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%
