Wealth Director, Defined Contribution Consultant

Summary: Serves as a strategic advisor to clients on their defined contribution plans. Uses their knowledge of defined contribution plan rules, regulations, and administrative practices to help clients satisfy fiduciary and regulatory requirements, minimize risk of litigation, manage costs, and promote the financial well-being and retirement readiness of their workforce. Collaborate with Account Managers and business leaders to grow defined contribution business by promoting those services with existing clients and helping to obtain new logo clients. Contribute to local market and Wealth Practice business development efforts and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leads the preparation of and reviews the work of others who assist in the preparation of defined contribution (DC) projects such as:

■ DC plan recordkeeping fee benchmarking studies

■ DC plan administration vendor searches

■ ADP/ACP testing

■ Perform periodic calculations such as non-elective employer contributions, true up matching contribution, etc.

■ Retirement readiness analysis and reports

■ Plan design studies and cost projections

Other responsibilities include:

■ Provides regular consulting on 401(k), 403(b), and 401(a) DC plans for clients by phone and in person

■ Performs or reviews ad-hoc projects such as benefit design studies, non-discrimination testing, and various other cost and fiduciary risk management projects

■ Completes complex DC plan benefit administration special projects

■ Vendor management

■ Reviews drafts of DC plan amendments, SPDs, etc. drafted by Compliance consultants

■ Provides leadership and training to Associates and Consultants who assist with DC plan projects

■ Regularly looks for ways to optimize efficiency by improving procedures and practices

■ Provides collective bargaining support

Qualifications and Experience Required

■ Minimum of 8 years of DC plan administration or consulting experience

■ Bachelor’s Degree

■ Proficient user of MS Excel, MS Word and Access; experience preparing PowerPoint presentations

■ Sizable experience analyzing large data sets; strong attention to detail

■ Strong project management skills
