Summary Description:

The Sr. Sales Executive serves as a trusted advisor and partner within the State and Local Government Marketplace. The Sr. Sales Executive will establish, develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers at all levels to drive business and exceed established growth goals. The Sr. Sales Executive will achieve consistent, predictable quarterly revenue results and be the single point of contact/relationship manager for assigned territory. The Sr. Sales Executive will be responsible for a pipeline quota, as well as a closed new business quota. The Sr. Sales Executive will manage the “political process” in the assigned state/territory, working with Conduent consultants and accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall client development leadership and political strategy for Conduent activities in Public Sector, focusing on assigned territory and accounts

  • Assists the pipeline management and forecasting.

  • Works directly with the leadership of other Conduent organizations.

  • Responsible for community and political involvement, ensures that Conduent is viewed as a good corporate partner to the State and the local community.

  • Work with the appropriate resources qualifying opportunities, establishing effective solutions and executing effective win strategies.

  • Coordinates governmental relations activities with the Conduent Government Affairs Office and serves as primary Conduent local resource for contact with political leadership.

  • Develops and maintains executive-level relationships.

  • Works directly with corporate Executive Sponsor for state/region

  • Must have high level understanding of political, operational, sales, new and existing business activities in state/region.

  • Identifies leads and makes initial customer contact

  • Qualifies, researches, tracks and develops leads into viable business opportunities; makes clients aware of Conduent’s technical and professional capabilities

  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Conducts scanning of internal and external environment in which Conduent, competitors and potential/existing clients operate

  • Builds and maintains network of colleagues, partners and customers to share information and obtain prospects

  • Develops and makes business case presentations to clients

  • Assists management team in proposal preparation activities

  • Participates in trade shows, conferences, etc to sustain industry and client awareness of Conduent’s services and capabilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of all of the organization’s products and services; may possess specialized knowledge on specific products or services

  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience selling to state and local government and have good current relationships within that arena.

  • Must have high level understanding of political, operational, sales, new and existing business activities in state/region.

  • This role requires someone who has broad knowledge / experience including strong business political acumen and financial and services knowledge.

Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated success in sales, client relationship management and customer service, with proven capabilities presenting to all levels of management

  • 10 years’ recent experience in Sales hunter role with S tate and Local Government industry strongly preferred

  • High attention to detail regarding proposals, contract request forms, CRM and territory account plans.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing growth plans and-where appropriate, gathering consensus and support from colleagues in Sales, contracting, product, operations and finance teams.
