The Information Security and Privacy Director within the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer will act as the liaison to the Privacy Office on key initiatives and support the business and IT organizations in meeting security requirements for various privacy regulations covering internal and client operations.
Responsible for planning and implementing risk management strategies, processes and programs as they relate to information privacy
Provides information privacy expertise to businesses and assists in the response to proposals and the development of client and vendor contracts
Works closely with privacy and legal departments in the development and execution of information privacy strategies and processes as they relate to information security
Participates in the development and review of security and privacy policies and procedures
Supports the development and execution of information security and privacy assessments and metrics development
As a direct report to the Director of Information Security Governance, you will have the following responsibilities:
Acts as the information privacy subject matter expert supporting the office of the Chief Information Security Officer
Work with business and IT resources to understand current and developing privacy laws and regulations and their impact on operational compliance
Ensures privacy requirements are reflected in information security and privacy policies and documentation
Works closely between information security office, privacy office, and legal to ensure risk management strategies, processes and programs meet business and the client needs.
Assist business and IT organization with understanding key security issues, risks, vulnerabilities, and exposures as relating to information privacy
Support business development by ensuring privacy regulation and security controls are reflected in applicable proposals and contracts
Participates in risk assessment and audit activities, as required
Recognized as an expert within the organization, both within and beyond own function
Contributes to the development of strategy
Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges / regulatory issues
Recommend process, product or service improvements
Decisions are guided by functional strategies and priorities
May include international accountability; and may include some global scope/accountability
Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a related technology or law field, or equivalent work experience
Minimum Holds certifications in one or more areas of technical specialism (i.e. CISSP, CISM, CISA, CIPP, or CBCP)
Minimum five to ten years of relevant experience in an information technology or privacy field is required
Must have a solid technical background and a functional knowledge of information security standards and controls
The individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and planning skills
Experience working within a global environment, across multiple time zones
Knowledge of industry trends and emerging threats
