Finance Manager – Government Contracting FP&A
Responsible for a variety of functions such as budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, CAPEX viability (analysis of return on investment, net present value, lease/purchase, pay back). This individual contributor role may perform one or more of the following duties:
Knowledge of government contracting process
Will be finance support of government contracting business
Must be able to work with business and accounting functions
Coordinates and supports monthly close processes and verifies accuracy of final recorded results in accordance to accounting principles, practices and procedures for senior management.
Performs variance analysis of actual vs. forecast.
Responsible for evaluating costs and understand how they would be expensed per Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Reviews and is responsible for ensuring the timely submission and validity of all division or business unit financial reports or fiscal records.
Verifies, tracks and approves Capital Expenditures in accordance to plan.
Reviews and validates Balance Sheet activity.
Analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, financial trends and operating forecasts.
Prepares, reviews and presents financials (including business case analysis) for business expansion.
Prepares financial and business related analyses and research in areas such as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation.
Monitors business unit’s adherence to approved budgets.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting or related field required
5 years of directly related experience, in a senior financial analysis role in a large firm, highly matrixed environment.
4 years in government contracting
Strong financial planning and analytic skills. Must have comprehensive financial analysis skills that enable evaluation of complex business environments and business models.
Demonstrated excellent teamwork qualities in a diverse and demanding environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate virtually, to multiple functions, cultures and to different levels of management, including executive groups.
Strong presentation skills.
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel - Pivot Tables, Smartsheet, advanced formulas.
Financial systems knowledge with Deltek, Hyperion, SAP preferred.
Minimal travel requirements – perhaps 3 times a year to corporate offices in NJ. .
