POSITION DESCRIPTION: Application Support

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The GRM Support Center handles all telephone, email, and Website inquiries for the Government Records Management Department of Conduent.

Duties and responsibilities of a Technical Level II Technical Support Associate include, but are not limited to the following to ensure optimal system and user operations:

A. Hardware

Troubleshoot Desktop/Laptop Operating System and Software related Issues

Troubleshoot Printer, Scanners, and Copier related issues

Responsible for new hardware and new client desktop setup

Assist in coordination and/or referrals to appropriate vendors or service personnel for IT related

hardware and software issues

Maintain Inventory of IT related hardware

Troubleshoot and decommission hardware as assigned

Report any fact or suspicion of unauthorized hardware utilization

B. Software

Assist with install and troubleshooting of Microsoft Operating System and software issues

Perform Quarterly audits of Windows Operating System Security settings utilizing industry best practices and federal and state guidelines with supervision of the IT Manager

Maintain acceptable Windows and Third-Party software patch levels utilizing data provided by WSUS and third party evaluation tools

Reporting and maintenance of Antivirus software statistics

Identify, investigate and research user questions and problems, and provide resolution, including follow up on internal IT Helpdesk Tickets

Report any fact or suspicion of unauthorized software installation

C. Reporting

Research and provide input for department related procedures and documentation

Complete IT help desk ticket reporting as required

Complete or assist with system outage reporting and documentation

D. Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Military/other experience in technical field (IT and computer related)

  • Itil Certification

  • Knowledge or willingness to learn MDT imaging and other system support tools needed.

  • Familiarty with basic networking terminology/topology DNS, TCP/IP, LAN WAN etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Office Suite

  • Good communication skills – written, verbal, and interpersonal – with technical and non-technical individuals

  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team in a normal office environment

  • Willingness to work overtime and work a flexible schedule

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Occasional lifting (computers, monitors, servers, etc.) and kneeling/crawling for telephony or technical set up (connecting data lines, etc.)

  • Ability to travel (local and overnight) as needed

Desired:

  • MCSA certification

  • Familiarity with Windows Server Update Services, Windows Group Policy Tools

  • Microsoft Certified Professional, MCP Internet

  • Software/Hardware/Networking Certifications (i.e. MCSE , AAA, Adobe Graphic design)

  • Operating System Certifications (i.e. Windows, Unix, MAC, Linux)

  • Electronic Document and Printing Professional Certification (EDPP)
