Currently, we are seeking excellent Benefits Associate III to join our team at 1434 Crossways Blvd, Chesapeake, VA 23320. This position is a call center position assisting people with inquiries regarding their Health and Welfare benefits. Ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, analytical, adheres to company/call center policies, researches information before going to the Technical Analyst for assistance, ability to communicate professionally with each client interaction & diffuse irate callers, timely manage his/her workbox, and adheres to assigned schedule and established departmental metrics (ACW, Unscheduled Aux time, etc.); can sit for periods of time. Job Description

  • Accurately performs research to determine medical eligibility coverage for plan participants.

  • Performs reconciliation on participants’ payments, deductions, and return to trust transactions.

  • Analyzes and corrects data produced on the Retiree Medical Extract Report. Finalizes research and dispatch report to vendor by agreed upon deadline.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, interpreting and correcting system generated error messages within standard.

  • Develops and updates training material to ensure practices and processes remain current.

  • Responsible for performing quality control reviews on peer processing and upload findings in the Quality Database.

  • As required, facilities and/or participates in medical eligibility discussion with the client or third parties.

  • Makes outbound calls to plan participant as required to explain complex eligibility determination.

  • Participates in uncovering the level of quality service being provided to plan participants by conducting outbound survey inquiries as needed.

  • Will collaborate with peers on completing projects assigned to the team.

  • Other duties assigned.

  • Computer: Experience working with a PeopleSoft Database and the ability to navigate multiple software applications at once.

  • Accuracy & attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Education/Training

  • Bachelor Degree is required

  • Two years of experience in Health & Wellness or Define Benefits is a plus.
