Title: Benefits Analyst – Pension Administration

Position Overview:

Benefits Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of tasks required to provide participants with the value of their pension benefit, ensure timely and accurate payment of the participants pension benefit, supporting other parts of the organization with respect to providing answers to participants pension related questions and any necessary systems testing related to the pension plans to which they are assigned.

  • Perform data review and, if applicable, manual calculations for error level 2 Intents, Estimates, MRD’s, Batch Term, True Ups, Disability, QDRO, FICA and Proxy Calculations

  • Calculations include determination/confirmation of eligibility for benefit, early reduction factors, optional forms of payment, etc.

  • QA Calculations

  • Process required data updates to reduce on-going manual calculations

  • QA data updates requested by Benefit Coordinators as needed

  • Address all types of requests from service center.

  • Review and mail fulfilment to participants

  • Create manual fulfilment when needed using Microsoft Word

  • Provide detailed information to the Pension Payroll team regarding overpayments

  • Review QDRO set ups

  • Review survivor set ups

  • Respond to associated pension payroll issues

  • Testing (Pre & Post) for monthly production moves (including regression batches)

  • Review and QA Death calculations.

  • Assist in training activities including creating and executing training for Operations and Service Center

  • If applicable, run ad hoc batch requests for the Operations team as well as the service center (Transaction Processing).

  • Provide support for ad hoc data research and clean up, this includes running reports to identify data issues or help support Operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 to 4 years of Client/Plan experience which includes supporting Benefits Coordinators with questions and processes.

  • Bachelors Degree in related field of study or equivalent work experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

  • Customer service experience in dealing with consumers and clients.

  • Demonstrated experience with duties described in the Position Overview.
